Illumination

A moment of late afternoon warmth floods the forest floor, for a moment.  A quiet, still instant of illumination, just before the late November chill settles in for the night.

 

The Ancestral Pueblo people lived in and along the plateau cliffs high above the banks of the Rio Grande into the 1500s, when they abandoned the high plateaus for pueblos in the Rio Grande Valley.
