![Through space, over the powerful waters, it reaches to connect.
The reach over the Columbia River at Astoria, OR, is the 4 mile long Astoria Bridge connecting Highway 101 to the state of Washington. The bridge replaced the 30 minute ferry service began in 1926. --Astoria, OR -----------------------------------CriteriaScores

I have not done many hi-key images, and came to this hi key image by reducing anything in the capture that did not contribute to the lines and significance of the bridge form.
Judges Comments:
- This architectural image is very well-composed and draws the eye nicely from left to right. Contrast is good as is focus and exposure. A unique take on this bridge! [Total = 25]
- High key image of bridge and pilings. The bridge forms a nice diagonal line to the far shore with the pilings also forming lines that enhance the composition. I would like to see more of the detail of the bridge, so I would like to be closer. Maybe a bit more contrast would help the bridge stand out. Overall, I think this is a mostly effective image. [Total = 22]
- I very much like the treatment here. Tastefully done. Refreshing. Leading lines and details are well done. Consider taking the tower reflection on the bottom out. It doesn't add anything and takes away from the clean lines. [Total = 28] CriteriaScores
